Mark and Cheryl Kelly are inviting you to mark your calendar for an exciting scenic road trip to San Marcos with a stay at the Embassy Suites, September 11-13, 2020.

Friday, we will meet up at Buc-ee’s, 40900 US Highway 290 in Waller at 10:30AM with wheels rolling at 11:00AM for an easy three hour drive including a rest stop. Detailed maps are available on the website under Documents > yellow Misc folder > San Marcos Trip subfolder.
Our first destination is the Gruene River Falls Grill for a late lunch. We have arranged dining tables to be put together for the group and the views are spectacular! From there, a short drive to the hotel in San Marcos. After checking in and enjoying their free happy hour, we can gather around our cars for some social time. Bring folding chairs and a cooler.

Saturday, we will drive to a very unique BBQ place for lunch at Coopers BBQ in Llano, TX. Wheels rolling at 9:30AM and arrive around noon. Route maps are on the website with a route to the Coopers and a different route coming back to mix it up. Coopersbbq.com
We should be back at the hotel around 4PM with plenty of time for another free happy hour and social gathering. Also, a drawing will be held Saturday evening for a special gift to one lucky person!
Everyone will be on their own for dinner Saturday night. The hotel has a restaurant, plus there are numerous restaurants nearby. One recommendation is Myron's Steakhouse. It is just minutes from the Embassy Suites and has an outstanding dinner menu and atmosphere. They have a very nice large semi-open dining area in the back where tables can hopefully be arranged together. Most of the parking is in the back of Myron's. We will get a head count early Friday of those interested in going in order to make a reservation for 6:30PM on Saturday.

Embassy Suites offers very nice oversized rooms with a FREE happy hour from 5:30-7:30PM daily and a complimentary hot buffet breakfast including made to order omelets from 7:00-10:30AM!
The hotel has advised that we will be given a lighted parking area reserved for our cars.
The hotel has given us a discounted room rate of only $124.00 per night. To reserve your room please contact the Embassy Suites Hotel PH: 512-392-6450 press option 3 for onsite reservations. When booking use our group code SHC. Your credit card will not be charged until check in, however the hotel has a 72 hour cancellation policy. Our rooms will be held on a first come, first serve basis until August 12, 2020, unless the hotel has an opportunity to contract with another group, as these rooms are held for us on a courtesy basis. To avoid paying full price for a room we highly recommend you reserve you room as soon as possible, and register on the club website.
Don't forget to bring walkie talkies and lawn chairs.
