Guys and Gals! Come see Old Town Spring in the Fall! With a nod to the ladies, thought to plan a shopping event in Old Town Spring. November is, generally, very nice in the Houston area, so plan on getting to OTS around 3 o'clock, meeting at the Loose Caboose to decide your plan of attack, shop or just walk around and see all the historic buildings, then meet back at the Loose Caboose with the guys around 5:30 pm for dinner. Plus there will be a full moon so will be a beautiful night just to walk around!
There are so many wonderful shops that you’re sure to find something to take home. Plus, OTS will celebrate Home for the Holidays where all the shops will be decorated for the season. The date isn’t posted on their events calendar yet, but is usually mid-November, so by November 18 should be beautifully festive and that evening you can enjoy a cup of cider or coffee with a funnel cake, while walking around enjoying all the lights or doing more shopping! Shops generally stay open later during this period but if Covid is still an issue in November, that might change.
The guys can check out the Wunsche Café on the corner of West Hardy and Midway and have a drink on their rooftop, or any of the many wonderful bars and brewerys. There are some interesting shops for the guys as well, such as a Blackhouse Cigars, several barbershops, Mallott’s Hardware and Variety, and Man Basics just to name a few. A map of OTS showing a parking area off Spring School Road, and the menu for the Loose Caboose are available on the club website, in the Documents tab, as a folder under the MISC folder labeled Old Town Spring. There is parallel parking along the store fronts around town and on a Thursday afternoon, might not be a problem finding a spot, otherwise, lots of parking behind the Town Center. The numbers in the boxes shown on the map are the addresses of the businesses. You’ll have to run down the list and find the address to find the name of the business or just walk around until you see something interesting, which is a guarantee.
