SIRE VOLUNTEER DAY

About this event

Every Thursday starting June 13.

On the first day, we will sign in with Julia Stephan, Volunteer Coordinator. She will explain our duties and show us how to do them. We will have those same duties every Thursday. Wear or bring hats, gloves, sunscreen, long sleeved shirts, bug spray and water bottle with beverage of choice. Probably want to wear closed toed shoes the first day, then adjust depending on duty assigned the next week. Can also bring a cooler with ice as well if you so choose. They offer water coolers to refill bottles and do have a stocked refrigerator in case you forget to bring something. There may be some gardening duties assigned. If that’s something you’d like to do, you might want to bring your own in case theirs are being used or not something they have, as they only have basic gardening tools. Sessions are 2 hours, but if you finish early or need to leave, let Julia know or if she’s unavailable, another staff member. You don’t have to come every Thursday, but let Julia know as she keeps a log for the volunteers and assigns the jobs and will need to know so she can assign someone else for that duty the next week. SIRE is giving so much to the community and especially the clients they help so let’s help them by giving just 2 hours of our time once a week. If you missed the tour last weekend, it was memorable and just showed how caring this organization is. It’s a great facility and they need volunteers to help keep it a great facility, so let’s do our part by volunteering. You won’t be disappointed.
