Tour Houston Transtar
The Houston area faces a wide array of potential threats, from hurricanes and severe flooding to hazardous materials incidents and active shooter situations. Some of these disasters are forecasted with several days notice, but many can -- and will -- happen without warning.
The good news is that we are not powerless against these challenges.
Ray Wheat has arranged a tour of the Transtar facility home of the Harris County Emergency Management Center and manned during emergencies.
Join us for a tour of the facility and learn about traffic, traffic cameras, freeway signs, flood warning system, natural disaster coordination and much more.
9:00 am meet in rear parking lot of the Cracker Barrel, 14765 North Fwy, Houston.
9:30 am - Wheels Rolling OR if you like, meet us at Transtar by 9:50 am
9:50 am Arrive Houston Transtar, 6922 Katy Rd, Houston.
10:00 am Tour facility
After the tour Bob Romsland will lead us to lunch at Mo’s Irish Pub, 14102 Mueschke Rd.
